Sub-Zero 700BF freezer drawers repair
The 700BF is a 700 Series all-freezer drawer unit, a common sight in a built-in kitchen wall or pantry run. It has seamless molding, magnetic gaskets and a front vent behind a removable kickplate. It is discontinued, and Sub-Zero points to the ID-27R as the modern replacement.
Drawers that no longer run square let warm air in, which builds frost. A display that reads correctly while the contents are soft points to a sensor or airflow concern, so we never trust the readout alone.
We check the drawer slides, the gasket and the vent first, and measure the temperature with our own thermometer. A written price comes before work, and repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty. We also confirm the drawer fronts line up evenly after any slide adjustment, because an uneven drawer starts frost along its edge.
The display may be accurate for the sensor location while the drawer itself is warm, because of airflow or a leaking gasket. We verify with a thermometer inside the drawer and report what we measure.
A drawer that is not sealing fully lets humid air in, and that air turns to frost. We realign the drawer, check the gasket and clear the ice, then watch whether the frost returns.
Through the front vent behind the kickplate. Keep it clear of boxes and dust, and we will clean it during the visit if needed so the compressor does not have to work harder than it should.
