Sub-Zero 700BFI freezer drawers plus ice maker service
The 700BFI adds an automatic ice maker and a removable bucket to the 700 Series all-freezer drawers. It is discontinued, and Sub-Zero has even published a removal package for owners who no longer want the ice maker. You will usually find it in a built-in kitchen wall.
Ice over the drain, a nonstop compressor and weak ice are the common calls. Water under the lowest basket comes from the drain being blocked, and a leaking gasket or frost on the evaporator keeps the compressor running.
We clear the drain, test the gasket and check the ice maker’s water path. You get a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty, whether the fix is small or larger. We also check the ice bucket and chute for frozen clumps, because a blocked chute can look like a weak ice maker.
Ice is blocking the drain and meltwater is collecting. We clear it, then find out why it formed, since a seal or defrost problem would bring the ice straight back.
A gasket leak, frost or a dirty condenser are the usual reasons. We check each one and tell you the written price before replacing any part of the cooling system.
Water flow or the fill valve is the usual cause. We check the supply line, the filter and the valve, then watch a full cycle to confirm the ice maker is freezing properly again.
