We repair Sub-Zero built-in and counter-depth refrigerators, wine units, freezers and ice makers throughout Southside Place in 77005. Book by phone or online, and do not worry that your mail says Houston.
Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach Sub-Zero diagnostics here.
The subdivision opened to buyers on Easter Sunday, 1925, and became a city in the early 1930s. Modest houses from the 1920s to the 1940s keep making way for larger ones, and the Sinclair apartments now stand where Blair House used to be.
New builds here often fit refrigeration with almost no service room around it. We plan for how far the unit can slide out and check its anchoring before any repair begins.
Southside Place runs a water utility of its own. By the city's account, roughly four fifths of the supply is treated water bought from Houston, topped up from a well the city owns.
If the city has posted a water notice, mention it when you call, since it can explain cloudy ice or slow dispensing. Filter, valve screen and supply line all get checked before we suspect the ice maker.
Heavy rain still collects on these streets, and the city drains through Poor Farm Ditch toward Brays Bayou. The county is enlarging that channel to protect homes here and in West U.
A beverage center or undercounter drawer set low in a remodeled kitchen is the first thing standing water reaches. We check the base, wiring and condenser area of low units for rust and silt.
New construction here often comes with a full kitchen package around a counter-depth or built-in refrigerator. Older remodeled homes tend to keep original cabinetry around one new appliance.
A built-in squeezed into an older opening may lack the air its grille needs. We check airflow and cabinet tolerances first, because restricted air makes a Sub-Zero run long and warm.
With only a handful of streets off Stella Link and Bellaire Boulevard, Southside Place takes our technicians minutes to cross. What varies is the house, because some new builds leave almost no room behind a tall unit. Tell us if the home is new or original, and send a photo of the model plate inside the fresh-food section.
Original houses may still have shut-off valves that have not turned in decades. If the valve feeding the ice maker is frozen or dripping, a plumber is the better first call. Once the water can be shut off safely, we test the water valve, fill tube and ice maker in that order.
Nothing at all. We know where the city line runs and book you like any other close-in address.
Usually not. Change the filter, throw out the first few batches and watch the next ones. If they stay cloudy, the valve and supply line come next.
Almost always. Drawers slide out on their rails, and we work on them in place or on the floor beside the opening.
