What EC50 means

On Sub-Zero 600 Series units such as the 650/F and 690, and 700 Series or 736 integrated models like the 736TCI and 700TCI, EC 50 with a flashing Service light means excessive refrigerator compressor run. The fresh-food compressor has been running too long for the conditions. If temperatures are close to normal, a dirty condenser is the first suspect; on integrated units the kickplate must not be blocked. The code can be cleared by holding the bell key for 15 seconds once the cause is handled.
