Sub-Zero Designer models in the DET/DEC family, like the DET3050CI, report 10-C-00 when the condenser thermistor reads open. That sensor watches the temperature at the condenser, where heat from the cabinets is released into the room, and the board uses it to monitor how the refrigeration system is running. With the circuit open, the board loses that reading. You see 10 C 00 on the display, and cooling may continue but without the board's normal oversight.
1. Check that the grille is not blocked and vacuum any lint you can reach from the front. 2. Make sure the kitchen area in front of the unit stays clear. 3. Turn the breaker off for one minute, then restore power. 4. Check cabinet temperatures; call us if 10-C-00 stays.
It is in the machine compartment, near the condenser coil that releases heat. We reach it from the grille side and check the plug and wire before testing the sensor.
Often it does, at least for a while. The condenser reading helps the board keep watch over the system, so we suggest booking a visit soon rather than waiting.
Dust alone does not open the circuit. It is still worth vacuuming the grille, and we clean the condenser during the visit while we repair the sensor connection.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
