Classic Built-In models like the BI-36U/S use 15-8-10 for an ice accessories relay that is stuck open. It is also known as the ice maker second device relay, the one that powers the extra ice-side device beyond the ice maker itself. With it stuck open, that device gets no power when the board calls for it. Expect the ice side to work only partly, while cooling elsewhere goes on normally.
1. Confirm the ice maker is switched on. 2. Check that the bin and any dispenser parts are seated correctly. 3. Reset the breaker one time. 4. Note which ice functions work and which do not; tell us when you call.
It is the second relay on the ice side of a Classic BI board. It powers an extra ice device separate from the ice maker. When stuck open, that device does nothing.
15-8-00 is the main ice maker relay stuck open. 15-8-10 is the second, accessories relay stuck open. The ice maker itself may still make some ice with 15-8-10.
No. This relay only affects the ice side. Cooling keeps running, so you can book the visit when it suits you. We give a written price before any work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
