With a Designer DET/DEC unit, the DET3050CI among them, 35-2-34 indicates the Zone 2 speed setting is too high. The Zone 2 evaporator fan is turning faster than the board asked for. A blade that has slipped on its shaft, a missing blade, or a motor that does not suit the control can all produce this. The zone often keeps its temperature, but a louder or different fan sound from the back wall is common.
1. Listen near the Zone 2 back wall for a change in fan sound. 2. Check for rattling with the door open and the switch pressed. 3. Reset the breaker once. 4. Confirm Zone 2 temperature with a thermometer placed on a middle shelf for a few hours.
If the Zone 2 fan or board was replaced recently, a part that does not match can run the fan too fast. Let us know the repair history when you call.
Yes. Without its blade, or with one slipping, the motor spins freely and faster than commanded. That is the first thing we check for this code.
Usually not right away, because the fan still moves some air. We suggest a visit within a week. We provide a written price before work begins.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
