On the BI it covers the freezer; on Designer units it covers Zone 2. The control saw the defrost heater circuit read as closed because the defrost bi-metal stayed shut when it should have opened. Owners usually notice frost creeping across the freezer back wall, a freezer section drifting warmer than its setting, or the code coming back after a power cycle.
