On Classic Built-In refrigerators with electronic control, BI-36UFD/S for example, 90-B-80 means the main board has no communication with the baffle stepper micro. The baffle is a motorized damper that opens and closes to manage airflow, and a small stepper controller runs it. Without communication the baffle can stick in one position, leaving one section too warm or too cold.
1. Note 90-B-80. 2. Check both sections with a thermometer. 3. Do one power reset: two minutes off at the breaker, then on. 4. Make sure stored items are not blocking the air vents inside the cabinet. 5. Book service if temperatures drift or the code repeats.
It is a motorized damper that controls how much cold air passes between sections. A small stepper controller moves it, and 90-B-80 means the main board lost contact with that controller entirely.
If the baffle is stuck open, too much cold air flows through; stuck closed, too little arrives. Unbalanced temperatures between sections are a common result of this code.
We test the wiring, look for ice or moisture at the baffle and check the stepper controller, then quote the needed part in writing. Our labor is covered for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
