On Classic Built-In units with electronic control, for instance the BI-36UFD/S, 95-2-01 is a freezer diagnostics code. The micro-compressor pin for the freezer compressor is stuck in the on position. The board cannot trust that reading, and the freezer compressor may run constantly, leaving the freezer colder than set and the machine compartment warm, or the board may restrict operation to protect the system.
1. Note 95-2-01. 2. Check the freezer temperature with a thermometer. 3. Listen for whether the compressor ever cycles off during an hour. 4. Power-cycle the unit at the breaker, two minutes off. 5. Keep the grille clear and contact us if the code returns.
It means the compressor is running more than needed, which wears it and raises your power bill. 95-2-01 explains why: the freezer compressor's diagnostic signal is stuck on, so the board loses its normal control.
On a Classic BI, 95-2-00 means the freezer compressor signal is stuck off, while 95-2-01 means it is stuck on. One tends to warm the freezer, while the other tends to overcool it and keep the compressor busy.
We test the compressor drive, the diagnostic wiring and the board, then quote the repair in writing before anything is ordered. Our labor has a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
