On Designer Wine (IW) units like the IW-30 and IW-30CI, 10 3 01 reports a short on the zone 3 cabinet thermistor. The air sensor for zone 3 is reading close to zero resistance, which no real temperature could produce. With no usable reading, the control cannot regulate zone 3 properly. You may find zone 3 colder or warmer than set, a frozen or odd zone 3 display value, or the compressor running at unusual times.
1. Check zone 3 temperature with a thermometer. 2. Dry any condensation inside zone 3. 3. Confirm the door seals. 4. Power-cycle at the breaker once. 5. Book service if 10 3 01 reappears. 6. Move prized bottles out of zone 3 meanwhile.
Neither is safe to ignore. Both leave zone 3 without a reading. A short often comes from wire damage or moisture, so we inspect the wire route carefully.
Short term, yes, if a thermometer shows a safe range. For valuable bottles, move them to another zone until we repair it. Keep an eye on condensation, too.
Most sensor or wire repairs take one visit. You get a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty on our work. We bring common thermistors on the truck.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
