Sub-Zero 400 Series wine storage units built with the 400-2 control, the 427 and 424 for example, show EC 13 as the lower cabinet cold temperature alarm. The lower section has dropped below the temperature its setting calls for. The display reads EC 13, and wine in the lower cabinet can feel noticeably chillier, while the upper part may be fine. EC 11 is the twin alarm for the upper cabinet.
1. Double-check the lower cabinet temperature setting. 2. Move bottles that block the lower air openings. 3. Allow some hours for the zone to settle after a change. 4. If EC 13 persists, do one breaker reset and book us if it comes back.
Overly cold storage is not ideal, and very low temperatures can push corks. Check the setting first, and if the alarm stays, have it looked at soon.
The 400-2 control watches upper and lower cabinets separately. EC 13 tells you the lower one is too cold; the upper can still be normal.
We verify the setting, test the lower cabinet sensor and check the control output. You approve a written price first, and our work is covered for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
