Sub-Zero 736TCI Integrated Refrigerator/Freezer and Ice Maker Repair
The 736TCI adds an automatic ice maker to the 736TC layout: an integrated over-and-under refrigerator/freezer in the 700 Series, with a crisper bin on a support assembly under a glass shelf. Sub-Zero stopped making it, and a 736TCI-RH printing exists too.
Two sets of complaints arrive. One is temperature: a cabinet that is slow to recover after the door was left open, and frost building in the freezer, both of which usually involve a door seal letting in humid air. The other is the ice maker, whose weak output or cloudy cubes more often come from water supply issues than from the cooling system.
We keep the two jobs separate so you only pay for what is wrong. Parts can generally be ordered, with legacy items arriving more slowly, and a written price comes before any work.
Not necessarily. Frost usually points to humid air entering through a door seal, while ice maker trouble tends to trace back to the water supply.
Weak door seals and restricted airflow are the common causes. We check both and time the recovery to confirm. We also look for frost on the evaporator as a clue.
We inspect it as part of any visit, since it sits on a support assembly under a glass shelf. If it has shifted or is worn, we adjust or replace the affected pieces.
