Code 07 on a legacy 600 Series built-in like the 650/F, or a 700 Series model such as the 736TCI, means the freezer cabinet thermistor has been open or shorted for 10 seconds or more, or is reading erratically. This sensor reports the air temperature inside the freezer. With a bad signal, the control cannot hold the freezer reliably, so ice cream may soften or the freezer may run colder than set.
1. Note code 07. 2. Place a thermometer in the freezer and read it after a few hours. 3. Run one breaker reset with power off for about two minutes. 4. Keep the freezer door closed as much as possible. 5. Call us if the code returns or the freezer warms above 5°F.
Possibly, if the freezer temperature drifts. Keep a thermometer inside, and if it rises above 5°F, move frozen food to a cooler with ice and call us.
05 reports the refrigerator cabinet sensor, while 07 reports the freezer cabinet sensor. The repair approach is similar, but the sensor sits in a different section.
We test the freezer sensor and its wiring, then replace whichever part tested bad. You get a written price before work, and the repair carries our 30-day workmanship warranty.
