Classic Built-In units with a through-door dispenser, like the BI-36UFD/S, show 15-9-00 when the dispenser relay is stuck open. This is the auger relay, which powers the auger that pushes ice from the bin to the chute. With the relay open, pressing for ice does nothing even though the bin may be full. Water dispensing and cooling are on separate circuits, so they usually keep working while the code is present.
1. Check the bin for a solid clump of ice that might jam the auger and break it up gently. 2. Make sure the bin is pushed fully into place. 3. Reset the breaker once. 4. Try the ice paddle again after power returns.
That is the typical sign. The auger relay is stuck open, so the auger never turns. Water may still dispense normally because it uses a different circuit.
A jammed bin stops ice too, but 15-9-00 itself points to the relay. Breaking up clumps is still worth doing, and we test the relay to confirm.
We check auger power at the board and the plug, repair the relay side, and test ice dispensing. You receive a written price before we begin.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
