With a Classic Built-In refrigerator such as the BI-36U/S, 15-9-01 tells you the dispenser relay, which drives the ice auger, is stuck closed. The auger can keep turning without anyone pressing the paddle, pushing ice toward the chute or grinding in the bin. You might hear the auger running, find ice spilling at the dispenser, or notice the bin emptying faster than normal. Cooling usually carries on without change.
1. Remove the ice bin if the auger is pushing ice out on its own. 2. Clean up any ice or water at the dispenser. 3. Reset the breaker once. 4. If the auger runs again, turn the breaker off and call us.
With 15-9-01 the auger relay is stuck closed, so the auger keeps turning without a request. Removing the bin stops the spilling and protects the motor until the board is repaired.
Running nonstop can overheat it, so do not leave it going. We test the motor after fixing the relay and tell you whether it needs attention.
After diagnosis we give a written price for the board work and, if the auger motor ran hot, any further parts it needs. Our labor carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
