On Classic Built-In units such as the BI-36U/S with a dispenser, 15-9-66 means the water valve selecting relay is stuck at the ice maker water position. This relay decides whether water flows to the ice maker or to the door dispenser. Stuck on the ice maker side, the dispenser cannot get water. You press the paddle and nothing comes out, while the ice maker may keep filling and producing ice normally.
1. Make sure the household water supply to the unit is on. 2. Check that the water filter is installed correctly. 3. Reset the breaker one time. 4. Try the dispenser again with a glass for ten seconds; if it is still dry, book a visit and mention 15-9-66.
With 15-9-66 the selecting relay is stuck on the ice maker side, so water only reaches the ice maker. The dispenser line never receives a signal.
They are mirror images. 65 is stuck at the dispenser position, so ice stops. 66 is stuck at the ice maker position, so the door dispenser goes dry.
We test the relay and valve first, then give you a written price. In most cases it is a board-side repair completed in one visit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
