Sub-Zero shows 15-U-00 on Classic Built-In models such as the BI-36UFD/S and on Designer units like the DET3050CI. On the Classic BI it means the water system relay is stuck open. On Designer the board reports that no current is detected at the water valve when it should be. Either way, water is not getting to where the board is sending it, so the ice maker or dispenser may stop delivering water.
1. Confirm the water supply to the refrigerator is on and the line is not kinked. 2. Check that the water filter is seated and not overdue. 3. Reset the breaker once. 4. Test the dispenser or watch for ice production over a few hours.
Designer boards measure current at the water valve. When they call for water and see none, they set 15-U-00. The Classic BI reports the same code as a relay stuck open.
A clogged filter slows flow but does not stop current to the valve. It is still worth checking and replacing if overdue. The code itself points to the valve circuit, though.
We measure valve current and relay output, then fix the open point, whether wiring, valve or board, and test the ice maker and dispenser afterward. You approve a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
