Sub-Zero Classic BI models such as the BI-36UFD/S and Designer columns like the DET3050CI both list 30-8-05 as an ice maker miswire with normal temperatures. On the BI the control received no signal from the ice maker asking for a fill; on Designer models it is described as no water valve signal coming in from the ice maker. Cooling stays normal, but the tray never gets water, so ice output drops off and the bin slowly empties.
1. Confirm the ice maker is switched on and the bin is in place. 2. Check the household shutoff valve and look under the unit for kinked supply tubing. 3. Replace the water filter if it is past its change date. 4. Keep using the unit; food storage is not affected.
It tells the technician the freezer is holding temperature, so the problem is a wiring or signal issue at the ice maker rather than a cooling problem. Your food is safe while you wait.
A clogged filter can slow ice output, but this code means the fill request signal never arrived. Changing an overdue filter is still sensible, yet the wiring check is what solves the code.
We watch the ice maker call for water and test the line at both ends. After that, you get a written price, and the repair is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
