On legacy Sub-Zero 600 Series units such as the 650/F and 685, and on 700 Series, 736 and IC-27 models like the 700TCI, code 30 means the ice maker water valve solenoid was activated too much, over 15 seconds or, on 600 units, five times. The ice maker cycles off to protect against overfilling. A jammed cube in the ice maker is a common trigger. On the 648PRO, code 30 points to a stuck ice maker or water valve failure. You may see no new ice or water in the bin.
1) Turn the ice maker off. 2) Remove the ice bin and clear any cubes stuck in the mold. 3) Check that the water supply valve under the sink is fully open. 4) Replace the water filter if it is overdue. 5) Turn the ice maker back on; call us if code 30 returns.
Often a cube jams in the ice maker, so it keeps calling for water and the valve stays open too long. Low pressure or a sticky valve can also push activation past the allowed limit.
Similar, but broader. On the 648PRO it indicates either a stuck ice maker or a water valve failure, so we check the ice maker mechanism and the valve together.
Yes. Cooling is not affected; only ice production stops. We repair the ice maker or valve once you approve a written estimate, and the labor carries a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
