Designer models in the DET/DEC family, for example the DEC3050R, report 35-1-34 when the Zone 1 fan speed setting is too high. Put simply, the Zone 1 evaporator fan is spinning faster than the board commanded. That can follow a loose or missing blade, a fan running without load, or a mismatch between the motor and the control signal. Zone 1 may cool normally, though you might hear a louder whir from the back wall.
1. Listen at the back wall of Zone 1 for a louder or higher-pitched fan. 2. Note any rattling or ticking, and whether it changes when the door closes. 3. Reset the breaker once. 4. Check that Zone 1 still holds temperature; book a visit if the code repeats.
Usually the blade has loosened or come off, so the motor spins without its normal load. A motor that does not match the board can also overshoot. We check the blade first.
Not usually. Zone 1 often cools fine. Still, a loose blade can strike the cover or stop moving air, so plan a visit within the week.
If the Zone 1 fan was replaced recently, a mismatched or poorly seated part can set this code. Tell us when you book. We quote a written price before any work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
