Current Classic CL models like the CL3650U and CL4850SD use 40-8-01 for excessive ice maker fill. The control detected more water going to the ice maker than it should have. Overfilling can leave cubes fused together, ice spilling over the mold, a solid block in the bin, or water freezing where it should not. The rest of the refrigerator keeps cooling normally.
1. Turn off the ice maker switch to stop more water from entering. 2. Empty fused ice from the bin and let the area dry. 3. Check the floor and the area under the ice maker for leaks. 4. If water keeps flowing with the ice maker off, close the shutoff valve.
With 40-8-01, too much water reached the ice maker. Extra water overflows the mold and freezes together in the bin. Turning the ice maker off stops more water until we test the valve.
Yes. Unusually high pressure can push more water than expected during each fill. We measure pressure as part of the visit and check the valve at the same time.
We test the valve and the ice maker fill cycle, then replace what is needed. You approve a written price first, and our 30-day workmanship warranty covers the job.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
