Sub-Zero Classic BI models such as the BI-36U/S use 45-L-00 for an open circuit in the accent lighting. These lights add a soft glow to the interior. The control tried to power them and found no complete path, so they stay dark. Cooling, ice and dispensing are unaffected; the only change is that the accent lights no longer turn on when you open the door.
1. Open and close the door slowly to see whether the lights flicker at any angle. 2. Make sure the door switch is pressed fully when the door is closed. 3. Check whether other interior lights work and tell us which ones are dark. 4. Keep using the unit normally until service.
No. It only affects the accent lights inside the cabinet. Your refrigerator keeps cooling, ice and water keep working, and you can schedule the repair whenever it suits you.
Accent lights on BI units are usually LED strips wired into the trim, not screw-in bulbs, so we recommend letting us test and replace them.
We trace the circuit to find the break first, whether in the strip, the plug or the wire, then give you a written price. The repair is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
