On the Sub-Zero 648PRO and 648PROG, the older PRO 48 models, code 94 points to a user display or its wiring. Here the zone number identifies which display is involved: zone 1 refers to display #1 and zone 3 refers to display #2. The affected screen may go blank, show garbled digits, or freeze on one reading. Cooling usually continues, but you lose an easy way to see temperatures and settings for that part of the unit.
1) Note whether display #1 or display #2 is blank or garbled. 2) Cut power at the breaker for a minute, then restore it. 3) Put a thermometer in the zone that display normally shows. 4) Keep doors closed and read the thermometer daily. 5) Schedule service so the display and its cable can be tested.
For code 94 the number identifies the display rather than a cooling zone. Zone 1 means display #1, and zone 3 means display #2, which tells us where to start.
Usually not right away, since cooling continues. Without the display you cannot see temperatures, so a thermometer in the zone is a good safeguard until the repair.
We test the display and its wiring, then replace the display or repair the cable. You receive a written estimate first, and our labor is covered for 30 days.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
