Sub-Zero's legacy Designer Wine (IW) line, including the IW-24 and IW-18, displays 10 1 00 when the zone 1 cabinet thermistor is open. The control is looking for the zone 1 air sensor and finding no circuit at all. Because it can no longer measure zone 1 air, it regulates that zone by a rough fallback pattern. Bottles in zone 1 may warm or chill past the set point, and the zone 1 readout may show dashes.
1. Set a thermometer in zone 1 and read it after an hour. 2. Make sure the zone 1 door seals all the way around. 3. Leave the area near the sensor uncovered. 4. Switch the breaker off for one minute and back on. 5. If 10 1 00 does not clear, contact us.
The control keeps zone 1 cooling on a fallback routine. It may overshoot or undershoot, so check it with a thermometer and move valuable bottles if needed.
Yes. Moving or reinstalling an IW-24 can tug a sensor plug loose. That is one of the first things we check before ordering a thermistor.
We test the plug, lead and sensor, then give you a written price. Approved repairs carry our 30-day workmanship warranty. Most of the time it is a plug or lead, not the board.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
