Code 10 2 11 on an IW-30 or IW-30CI says the zone 2 evaporator thermistor is shorted. The sensor on the zone 2 cooling coil reads far less resistance than any real coil temperature could produce. The control loses its coil reading, which affects both cooling and defrost for that zone. Look for a frosted zone 2 coil, water after an unscheduled defrost, or zone 2 temperatures that wander.
1. Check the zone 2 floor for water and dry it. 2. Look for frost through the rear vents. 3. Keep bottles clear of the air openings. 4. Cut power at the breaker for a minute, then restore it. 5. Call us if 10 2 11 shows again.
Most often moisture or ice gets into the connector, or the wire rubs through its jacket near the coil. Less often the thermistor itself fails internally.
It can be. With a false coil reading, defrost may run at odd times and leave water that the drain cannot clear fast enough. Wipe it up and watch for more.
We diagnose first, then give a written price for the part and labor. Our work is backed by a 30-day workmanship warranty. Most visits finish the same day.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
