On Sub-Zero 400 Series wine storage with the 400-2 control, such as the 424 or 430, EC 11 is the upper cabinet cold temperature alarm. The control has found the upper section colder than it should be for the setting. You see EC 11 on the display, and bottles in the upper cabinet may feel colder than expected, while the lower section can be normal. On these units EC 13 is the matching alarm for the lower cabinet.
1. Confirm the upper cabinet setting is where you want it. 2. Check that the upper vents are not crowded by bottles. 3. Let the unit run for a few hours after any setting change. 4. If EC 11 stays, power down at the breaker for a minute, restore it, and call us if it returns.
It is the upper cabinet cold temperature alarm. The control has detected the upper section running colder than its setting allows, and it alerts you so bottles do not get too cold.
EC 11 concerns the upper cabinet, and EC 13 the lower cabinet. Both mean that section is too cold, so the checks are similar but focus on different zones.
We review the setting, the upper cabinet sensor and the control that runs that zone. We quote in writing before any repair, and our workmanship carries a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
