Sub-Zero 650G Glass-Door Refrigerator/Freezer Service
Owners of the 650G have a glass-fronted cabinet, refrigerator above and freezer below, that belongs to the 600 Series. It vents at the front, has a lit electronic panel, and offers glass shelves that adjust and stop spills. It is out of production.
A control panel that shows one temperature while a thermometer inside shows another is the first thing owners mention. In our experience the sensor is more likely to blame than the compressor, so we compare readings before ordering anything. A fan that has recently turned noisy behind the rear panel is the second, and moisture on the inside face of the glass is the third.
Each of these has an inexpensive first test: a thermometer, a listen at the back panel, and a look at the gasket. We start there and quote the repair in writing. Parts can generally be ordered, though legacy items take longer than current ones.
Trust the thermometer until proven otherwise. A mismatch is often a sensor issue, not lost cooling, and we confirm the true temperature before deciding whether the sensor needs replacing.
Occasional condensation is, but if it stays, the door seal or the insulating performance of the glass pane is probably declining and should be inspected.
We listen at the rear panel, confirm the fan is turning freely, and watch whether airflow is steady. A new noise often means wear, which is cheaper to deal with early.
