Sub-Zero BI-30UG Glass Door Repair
The BI-30UG puts a glass door on the 30-inch Classic over-and-under, so it tends to be the showpiece of a kitchen rather than something tucked behind a panel. It usually sits in a tall opening with the grille below the door.
The glass adds its own wear points. The seal around the pane and the main gasket both age, and a little extra moisture on the inside of the glass is often the first hint. Frost in the freezer is the other thing we see, so we look at defrost operation and the evaporator area before swapping anything. We also check how well the cabinet pulls back down after a long door opening.
You get the price in writing first, and the work is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.
Usually warm room air is getting past a worn seal and meeting the cold pane. We inspect the gasket and the pane seal, and correct the leak rather than just wiping the glass.
We look at the defrost cycle, the evaporator area and the door seal on the freezer side. Frost that returns quickly usually points to air leaking in or a defrost step that is not finishing.
It adds a few inspection points, mainly the pane seal and door weight on the hinges. Cooling-side checks are the same as on the solid-door BI-30U, and we explain what we find before quoting.
