Sub-Zero UC-15IP pump-equipped ice maker repair
The UC-15IP adds a drain pump to the UC-15I design, so it can empty into a sink instead of a floor drain. That is handy in an island or a finished basement bar. It was discontinued with the rest of the UC-/UW- line.
Because water travels through a pump, a weak or clogged pump can leave the bin damp and the ice poor. Add a dirty condenser or a stuck valve, and you get cycles that start but never fill the bin.
We look at the pump, the line and the valve first, followed by the freeze cycle. A written price comes before we start any work, and completed repairs have a 30-day workmanship warranty. We also confirm the unit sits level and that the drain line has no kinks, since either can mimic an ice problem.
Ice is either not forming or is melting before it falls. We check water flow, the freeze cycle and the pump, and we tell you which one is causing it before quoting anything.
Cloudy ice points to water quality or an incomplete freeze. We test the supply, the filter and the cycle, then explain what would clear it up and what it would cost, in writing.
No, the meltwater has nowhere to go and may collect in the bin. If you see standing water, switch the machine off and call us so the pump and line can be tested.
