Sub-Zero UC-15IPO Outdoor Ice Maker Pump Repair
The UC-15IPO adds a drain pump to the outdoor 15″ undercounter ice maker, which lets it empty meltwater where a gravity drain will not reach. Made from 2009 to 2025, it measures 14 3/4″ wide and 33 5/8″ high and tucks under an outdoor bar or counter.
The pump is the part that sets it apart from the UC-15IO. If it slows or stops, meltwater backs up and can overflow into the cabinet or onto the floor, so we check it early. After that comes the usual outdoor wear: scale in the supply line, a gasket stiffened by sun, and a restart that goes badly after a storm. Our order is pump and drain first, then the water supply, then the seal and cooling. You see a written price first, and the work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The drain pump may be slow or blocked, or the drain line may be pinched. We test the pump, clear the line, and make sure meltwater leaves the cabinet as it should.
It includes a pump that moves meltwater to a drain, so it can sit where a gravity drain is not practical. That adds one more part we check on every visit.
Yes. Scale and debris can clog the pump and drain line. A seasonal cleaning and a look at the gasket help prevent leaks and keep ice production steady.
