On 400 Series wine storage with the 400-2 control, such as the 424, 427 and 430, EC 10 is the upper cabinet warm temperature alarm and EC 12 is the lower cabinet warm temperature alarm. Both mean the cabinet stayed above its expected range. They are temperature alarms, not sensor codes. BW-30 and UW-24 models use the same two meanings. You may notice warmer bottles in one section, a running compressor, or a door that was not fully closed.
1. Note which code is showing: EC 10 is upper, EC 12 is lower. 2. Close the door and check the gasket. 3. Space bottles so air can move. 4. Clear the grille. 5. Give the cabinet a few hours; call us if the alarm repeats.
Not necessarily. A door left slightly open or a load of warm bottles can trigger either one. If the alarm clears after a few hours with the door shut, it may just be load.
EC 12 covers the lower cabinet only. Its air path and sensor are separate from the upper section, so we focus on the lower side first.
We inspect, test and give you a written price before any work. Repairs carry our 30-day workmanship warranty. On a 430 we test the alarming section's fan, damper and sensor first, since those are the usual reasons a cabinet runs warm.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
