On Sub-Zero 400 Series wine storage with the 400-2 control, for example the 427 or 430, a flashing Service indicator means excessive compressor run. The compressor has been running far longer than normal without satisfying the cabinet, and the control responds by disabling cooling. Owners see Service blinking on the display and cabinets that slowly warm because cooling has been switched off.
1. Shut the door firmly and check the gasket all the way around. 2. Clear the grille and anything stacked in front of the unit. 3. Turn off the breaker for a minute, then back on, to restart the control. 4. If Service flashes again, move valuable bottles and book a visit.
The control saw the compressor run too long and disabled cooling to protect the system. The cabinet will warm until the cause is fixed and the unit is restarted.
A breaker reset restarts the control, and cooling may resume. If the underlying cause remains, Service usually flashes again after another long run. That is why finding the cause matters.
We look at door sealing, airflow, condenser condition and cooling performance in that order. We quote in writing first, and our workmanship carries a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
