Sub-Zero assigns 35-2-34 on its IW Designer Wine units, the IW-30 and IW-18 among them, to a zone 2 fan speed that is set too high. The setting has gone above what the control accepts for that fan. The zone 2 fan may be audibly faster, airflow is stronger than intended, and the display reads 35 2 34. Cooling itself normally carries on.
1. Listen for a louder or higher-pitched fan in zone 2. 2. Leave the door closed between checks. 3. Reset at the breaker one time. 4. Book an appointment if the code shows again. 5. Note when the louder sound started and whether it is steady or comes and goes, then share that with us.
With the fan speed set above its normal range, the zone 2 fan spins faster and moves more air, which is often louder. That matches 35-2-34.
No owner setting controls fan speed on these units. The value sits in the control and must be checked by a technician. Trying to change it through hidden menus can upset other settings.
The zone 2 fan, its wiring and the control output, then we correct the cause. You approve a written price first, and our workmanship carries a 30-day warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
