Sub-Zero UW-24 Wine Code 3: control setup data mismatch

What 3 means

Owners of a UW-24 or UW-24/S undercounter wine unit may see this code shown as EC 03. Like EC 02, it is listed as a factory programming error, meaning the control's setup data is missing, corrupted or does not suit the model. Because the control cannot trust its own configuration, it may hold back cooling or act unpredictably. On the BW-30, EC 3 is listed with no cause given and is handled by a technician. You may see settings that will not stay or zones that refuse to cool.

1. Note EC 03 and the time it appeared. 2. Reset power once at the breaker, waiting two minutes before restoring. 3. Check whether settings hold after the reset. 4. If the code returns, keep the door closed. 5. Find the rating plate so you can give us the model and serial number.

What is the difference between code 2 and code 3?

On the UW-24 both point to a factory programming error. They are handled the same way: we check the control's setup and decide whether it can be corrected or the board must be replaced.

Will my wine warm up while EC 03 shows?

It might. If the control holds back cooling, the cabinet warms slowly. Keep the door closed and move your best bottles if it lasts more than a day.
