On BW-30 and UW-24 wine storage, EC-13 appears as EC 13 and is the lower cabinet cold temperature alarm. The lower zone has fallen below its expected range. A wine zone that is too cold can be as much of a concern as one that is too warm. You might see frost or condensation on lower bottles, a display reading under the set point, or a lower zone that feels much colder than the upper.
1. Confirm the lower set point. 2. Use a thermometer to check the real temperature. 3. Clear air openings at the back. 4. Reset at the breaker once. 5. If EC 13 comes back, call us. 6. Move bottles that feel icy to the upper zone until the visit.
Both matter. Extreme cold can push corks and affect taste, so treat EC 13 as seriously as EC 12. Watch the lower zone with a thermometer until we arrive.
Yes. If the lower cabinet sensor reads warmer than the real temperature, the control keeps cooling. We test it along with the damper. The damper is checked because it can stick open and flood the lower zone with cold air.
We test first and give a written price, with a 30-day workmanship warranty on our repair. Most lower zone cold alarms are settled by a damper or sensor repair completed during the first visit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
