Sub-Zero 424 undercounter wine cabinet repair
Part of the 400 Series, the 424 is an undercounter wine cabinet with two independent temperature zones. The family includes the 424G with a glass door and the 424S with a solid door, and it is also printed as the 424/O. It is no longer produced.
Most of them live under a counter in a bar or a kitchen run, where the cherry-faced roller shelves are part of the look. When both zones move together, we suspect the door seal rather than two bad sensors, because one common leak affects both sides at once.
We test the gasket, check the condenser airflow, and then look at the light switch, which is quick to sort out. We photograph key findings when it helps explain the repair. Those notes stay with your service record for any future call.
Zones that move together usually share one cause, most often the door seal. We test the gasket and airflow before looking at sensors, and quote in writing first.
The 424G has a glass door and the 424S has a solid door. We service both, so tell us which one you have when you call.
It is not urgent alone, but the door switch can also relate to the seal. We check both, and the work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.
