430

Sub-Zero 430 full-size two-zone wine storage repair

Most common issues on this model

  1. Interior light that ignores the door
  2. Compressor starting and running much more than before
  3. Cabinet taking its time to cool after a big load

The 430 is a full-size dual-zone cabinet from the 400 Series, now discontinued. Owners usually have it built into a wall of cabinetry or set in a wine alcove, with the display shelf lit to show off the labels. It is also printed as the 430/F and 430/O.

The light is the first thing to go in most cases, and it is usually a bulb or a socket connection, not a cooling concern. The cooling side shows its age differently: longer run times and a cabinet that takes its time coming back after a restock.

Expect us to check the door gasket, wipe down the condenser area and confirm both zones against a separate thermometer. Every job starts with a written price and carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

430430 questions
The light in my 430 stays dark. Is that a cooling problem?

Usually not. A burned-out bulb or a loose socket connection is the typical cause, and it is a quick fix. We still glance at the door switch and gasket while we are there.

Is a 430/F different from a 430?

Sub-Zero printed the model several ways, including 430/F and 430/O. We service all of them the same way, and we look up the data plate to order the right part.

How long should a 430 take to settle after I add bottles?

Some recovery time is normal after a big restock. If it drags on for a day or more, the door seal or airflow is usually the reason, and we can check both.
