Code 10 1 11 on IW-24 and IW-30CI Designer Wine (IW) units means the zone 1 evaporator thermistor is shorted. The coil sensor for zone 1 reports a resistance too low for any real coil temperature. The control can no longer use it for defrost or cooling decisions in zone 1. You may find water in zone 1 after an untimely defrost, frost on the coil, or zone 1 temperatures that wander.
1. Dry any water on the zone 1 floor. 2. Look for frost through the rear vents. 3. Keep bottles away from air openings. 4. Power-cycle at the breaker once. 5. Book service if 10 1 11 appears again. 6. Lay a towel under zone 1 if water keeps appearing.
A shorted coil sensor can make defrost run at the wrong time. The melt water may arrive faster than the drain path can carry it away.
Rarely. Most shorts are in the plug, the lead or the thermistor. We test those first and only look at the board if they check out.
After diagnosis we give a written price for parts and labor. Nothing proceeds without your approval, and we include a 30-day workmanship warranty. Plugs are cheap to fix.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
