Sub-Zero Designer Wine (IW) units such as the IW-30 and IW-18 show 35-C-00 when the DC condenser fan reads as open. This fan cools the condenser by drawing room air across it. With the circuit open, the control sees no fan, heat stays around the condenser, and cooling slows across the unit. The display shows 35 C 00. The compressor also runs hotter than it should.
1. Clear the grille and keep the area in front of it open. 2. Listen at the grille for fan noise while the compressor runs. 3. Restart the unit at the breaker once. 4. Call us if 35-C-00 remains. 5. Do not cover the grille with a rug or toe-kick panel while you wait.
35-C-00 says the DC condenser fan circuit itself is open. 15-C-00 points to the relay for the AC condenser fan stuck open. Both leave the condenser without airflow, but the part involved differs.
Dust on the condenser does not open the fan circuit, but cleaning the grille area still helps the unit while you wait for service. Vacuum the grille face gently without removing panels.
If testing shows the fan is open, yes. If the wiring or board is the cause, we repair that instead. You get a written price first and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
