EC-07, written on the display as EC 07, appears on Classic BW-30 and UW-24 wine units when the lower cabinet thermistor reads open, stays shorted for 10 or more seconds, or repeatedly gives readings that do not agree. This is the air sensor for the lower zone. Without it the control guesses at how much to cool, so the lower section can end up too warm, too cold, or swinging between the two while the upper section behaves normally.
1. Check the lower zone with a thermometer. 2. See if the lower door seals well. 3. Move bottles away from the sensor area at the back. 4. Turn the breaker off for a minute and back on. 5. If EC 07 shows again, plan a service visit.
An unreliable lower cabinet sensor can make the control overcool. A colder-than-set lower zone is one of the most common signs of this code. Check it with a thermometer to be sure.
Please don't. They sit behind the liner and their wiring connects to the control. We test each sensor with a meter instead. Swapping them could also confuse the control even further.
Yes. After a written price and your approval, our repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty. If the lower cabinet thermistor acts up again within that period, we come back and redo the work at no labor charge.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
